Equality, Diversity & Inclusion - Statement of Intent

Ponteland Golf Club is committed to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Our mission is to foster a positive, forward thinking and inclusive ethos, which embodies
the commitment to ensure the game is open to all, and the Club is developed to benefit
everyone - all of its membership, its customer base and workforce.

Ponteland Golf Club considers that everyone should play their part in making golf
inclusive and aims to ensure that all people have a genuine and equal opportunity to
become a member, participate in club life or work at the club, irrespective of any of the
Protected Characteristics - age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil
partnerships, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation, pregnancy and
maternity.

Ponteland Golf Club will embed these values within all areas of its work. It will not
disadvantage any individual, by imposing conditions or requirements which cannot be
justified in the provision of its services. It is also committed to supporting the rights and
interests of those who it employs.

This Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy will be reviewed at least every 3 years by the
Club Committee / Directors. Any amendments shall be effective from the date stated.

Code of Conduct & Club Rules - Introduction

Ponteland Golf Club is committed to providing a sociable and safe environment for all, free from discrimination, harassment or intimidation. Everyone has the right to be treated with respect, consideration and dignity and members are reminded that an acceptable standard of behaviour is required in all areas of the Club and course at all times and that upon payment of membership or green fees, members and visitors have given their consent to be bound by both the restrictions and penalties which may be imposed for any breach of this Code of Conduct.

The Club has set the following Code of Conduct as LOCAL RULES. In formulating its Local Rules, the Club

has considered the R&A guidance Rules Overview (randa.org)

• R&A Rule 1.2 Standards of Player Conduct: All players are expected to play in The Spirit of the
Game.
• R&A Rule 1.2b Code of Conduct

Modifications to the Rules for players with disabilities have been made part of the Rules of Golf and are in effect for all players who fall under the categories covered in R&A Rule 25. Modified rules apply to all competitions.
